Taking Time to Remember

Each year, the seniors at each of our adult day programs participate in of variety of activities to commemorate Remembrance Day. Some of the themes that we focused on this year were life on the homefront, ration recipes, war time music and poppy crafts.

Felt Poppy Wreath

For the wreath above, participants started with a paper template, cut out flowers and leaves in the appropriate shapes, and glued them to the template.   

For the wreath shown below, participants sewed felt poppies, using the instructions listed below. After all the poppies were made, one participant sewed and stuffed a circular ring and tacked the poppies on to it.
