BETTER AT HOME SENIORS PROGRAM-GIVING SENIORS A HELPING HAND

The South Vancouver Neighbourhood House is excited to announce, in partnership with the United Way and Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS), the upcoming launch of the Better at Home Program. This service is set to begin on April 1st, 2014. Better at Home strives to provide services that keep seniors living independently in their own homes and connected to their communities. B.C. government funded, this initiative offers non-medical assistance to elders dwelling in the South Vancouver area. It will support transportation and light-housekeeping needs that are delivered in a friendly and courteous manner. Fee for services will be charged on a sliding scale depending on the client’s income. The transportation division will rely on volunteer drivers, connecting neighbours within the South Vancouver community. If you, or any one you know is interested in more information or volunteering for this exciting project please feel free to contact the Better at Home program coordinator at the South Vancouver Neighbourhood House.
