Alzheimer Society March eCONTACT

Upcoming Tele-workshops
The Alzheimer Society of B.C.'s free one-hour tele-workshops allow you to participate from home, wherever you are in the province. Workshops include a live web video of the presentation, making it easy for you to follow along on your computer while you listen on the phone. You will also have the option of downloading handouts after the session. Upcoming tele-workshops include:

Understanding Behaviour
Wednesday, April 6, 2016, 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. PDT
Please choose the time that is most convenient for you.
Caregivers will learn how to understand behaviour as a form of communication. We will explore strategies to determine what the person with dementia might be trying to communicate, to find ways to decrease the occurrence of behaviours that concern us and to respond in supportive ways.

Research Update
Thursday, April 21, 2016, 1 p.m. PDT
Join Dr. Haakon Nygaard as he explores the question, "Is there light at the end of the tunnel?". This session will review some of the exciting scientific progress being made in Alzheimer's disease research and its potential future clinical directions.

Support Services
Tele-support group
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. offers support groups for caregivers who want current information that will help improve the quality of life for people living with dementia.
